Hey everyone! It’s been a whirlwind couple of months with things moving very quickly. It feels like everything I have been preparing for is finally coming into fruition. My personal life has changed significantly and I attribute the knowledge I have learned about really surrendering and allowing, to all these wonderful things that are happening.
I just came back from Cuba on December 22 a to play the International Havana Jazz Festival and was there the day that Obama announced the opening of relations between Cuba and the US. The Cubans were ecstatic and so grateful. Perhaps they will finally receive those material things they need like medicine. Here’s hoping. They certainly don’t need to add to their spirituality as a people in my opinion. Having had to survive with almost nothing for years , their inner resources are super developed.
I have also been accepted to the Millay Arts Colony to compose for my next project. What an honor! That will happen for most of April.
Then I have been invited to present a workshop at the Mid- Atlantic Flute Fair on February 22, the New York Flute Fair on March 15, and the California Conservatory of Jazz on May 24th.
I will also be traveling to Miami to perform with Charanga ’76 at the end of April! Yes, we’re still around!
Then I have a tour in San Francisco at the end of May.
I continue to practice and learn as much as possible as there is virtually no end for sure. Ok, good people, we will be in touch!
