Hello all, It’s been a while since I’ve had the time to post here but here’s what’s going on. I’ve been invited to participate as an honored guest in the Jazz Plaza 2002 Festival in Cuba this December!! I feel honored to have been asked to go. Bobby Carcasses is putting together a Jazz band to honor the great Cuban Jazz musician, Armando Romeu, and he will have four flutists from all over the world participate in this performance. I’m also working on a new project which is bringing me back to the earlier part of my career in the 70’s. I’m recording a Charanga record. The music is traditional to start with, then moves on to a different vibe. I’m doing most of the arranging and some composing. You’ll see! Or should I say, you’ll hear! School has started and that’s good because it means I start to do my workshops again. I have created a new one entitled, “My Life as a Composer”. This one is geared toward upper elementary students. This past summer was great. I traveled to Paris and Nice. There’s lots of salsa and timba going on in Europe.I also traveled to Florida to do some pre-promoting for my new project. Well, that’s it for now. -Andrea
