This month has been filled with a whirlwind of events, happenings, my CD release party at Trumpets, and lots of people working really hard together to make my career a success. Firstly I need to thank my business team; Sharon, Olga, Kimberly, Vince, and Shaunna. Each working to make this CD get out there and be recognized! You are all the best! Shaunna has been working hard to get radio to play “Lady of the Island” and it has jumped to #46 on the Jazzweek charts in the first two weeks of having been released. I was told that just to be on the charts is really something.Vince is hard at work getting me work in Europe and Kimberly is working endless hours putting my name in every place she can think of. You both are amazing!
The CD release party was great! The right people showed up and the music was amazing. Kudos to Bill, Kim, Andy, James, Wycliffe, Anton, and Ismel for making it happen. Thanks to Enrico and Kristina for giving us the opportunity to play. Thanks to Sharon for being there and Rajesh who made the video. I am really blessed to have all these wonderful people around me. Must have done something right in my past life! 🙂
I’m looking forward to November as we approach it quickly. I’m playing with David Rimelis and Matt King at a wonderful church in West Orange. I used to play with Matt a long time ago so this should be really fun. Then I’ll be doing the annual benefit for Gloria Dennard, Kenwood’s mom at her music school- the Manna House on 106th in the city. She is an amazing woman who started her music school years ago and has maintained it giving opportunities to young children in the neighborhood who might never have gotten these opportunities. It’s an honor to do the benefit. That’s it for now. Have a peaceful time during the storm. We can’t control it anyway- just go with the flow people! Peace out!
